Liverpool could reportedly revisit their interest in Borussia Monchengladbach star Mahmoud Dahoud after a release clause in his contract was revealed.

The 20-year-old was considered one of the top targets for Jürgen Klopp earlier this summer, but with the Bundesliga outfit dismissing their interest, it seemed as though a deal wasn’t likely.

According to Bild though, the German tactician may well be ready to go back in for the highly-rated ace with a release clause of £8.5m coming into effect at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Juventus are also named in the report as an interested party and so the Reds will be expecting to face competition, but with the fee being as it is next year, they will fancy their chances of signing Dahoud.

Bild add that Dahoud hasn’t shown much of a keenness to sign a new deal which would take the release clause out of the equation, and so Gladbach may now be forced into a difficult situation where they will have to listen to offers before the deadline later this month.

The playmaker would be considered great value for money at £8.5m, and so the expectation is that Liverpool will wait until next summer, provided there is no change in his contractual agreement with the German side.

However, for Klopp, and Juve, they will monitor the situation closely now in the event that Gladbach decide that it is perhaps best to offer their starlet at a cut-price deal this month to try and get as much as possible before the clause comes into effect.

Klopp has already been busy this summer though with the signing of Georginio Wijnaldum amongst others, who will be added to a deep group of midfield options including the likes of Emre Can, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Marko Grujic.
