Gerrard reveals MK Dons talks
Steven Gerrard has admitted he did speak to MK Dons about becoming their next boss, but decided it was too soon to take his first jump into management.
Liverpool legend Gerrard, who is considering his next career step after his time with MLS giants LA Galaxy came to an end, was linked with a shock move to the League One strugglers following the sacking of Karl Robinson.
But the 2005 Champions League hero has revealed he decided not to take up the offer given to him by Stadium MK bosses.
Asked about the links with MK Dons, Gerrard told BT Sport: 'I spoke to them, I had a chat with the chairman and I think it's a really exciting job for someone else.
"It's a bit soon for me, but it's true I did speak to them."
Former England international Gerrard announced he was leaving LA Galaxy following their exit from the MLS play-offs.
The midfielder has been linked with a return to Anfield among others but it remains unclear at this stage whether the 36-year-old is considering a continuation of his playing career or retirement and a move into management.
"I'm just taking a bit of time to consider what's next," Gerrard added, speaking as part of BT Sport's Champions League coverage. "It's exciting times moving forward."
Reflecting on his time in America, Gerrard said he enjoyed every second of his stint playing across the Atlantic.
"It was really enjoyable. Unfortunately we didn't win the MLS this season but we got to the semi-finals and got knocked out on penalties," he said.
"I'm slightly disappointed I've finished, but the adventure was really enjoyable."
