Sadio Mane snatched a late winner for Liverpool in the Merseyside derby to keep the Reds' Premier League title hopes alive.

The game looked destined to finish 0-0 before Sadio Mane struck in the fourth minute of extra time.

Eight minutes were added on following the injury to goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg and the Reds made them count.

Mane latched onto a rebounded shot off the post from Daniel Sturridge, leaving substitute goalkeeper Joel Robles stranded.

Jurgen Klopp's side then nearly doubled their advantage through Roberto Firmino.

But the Brazil international saw his effort cleared off the line by Seamus Coleman in the dying minutes of the game.

The result keeps Klopp's men in contention for the title, moving them up to second place,  just six points off league leaders Chelsea.

Everton remain in ninth place and continue their dismal recent run in the Merseyside derby.
