Reds eye Inter Milan stopper
Liverpool have reportedly been encouraged by the enquiries they made about the availability of Inter Milan stopper Samir Handanovic.
The goalkeeper is thought to be keen on a new challenge after over 10 years in Serie A.
Handanovic has an excellent reputation in Europe with Southampton falling foul of his incredible penalty record when he kept out Dusan Tadic’s spot kick in November to maintain a 43.8 per cent save ratio.
That ratio has since dropped, but the stopper also kept out 67 per cent of the efforts that came at him last season.
Klopp thinks the 32-year-old could be an ideal No.1 to command his back four.
Inter are not thought to be keen sellers, but have made it known a good offer would be enough to convince them to part ways with Handanovic, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Serie A side paid €11 million for Handanovic’s services in 2012 and have the stopper tied down until the summer of 2019.
