Jordan Henderson to miss Leicester clash
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has been ruled out of tonight's Premier League clash with Leicester City due to a foot injury.
However, fears that the Reds midfielder could be facing a long spell on the sidelines have been allayed.
Henderson was hurt in training at Melwood on Friday after suffering a blow to his foot in a challenge with a team-mate.
The 26-year-old was sent for a scan amid concerns that he may have broken a metatarsal.
To Jurgen Klopp's relief, results showed that there is no fracture but heavy bruising means he won't feature at the King Power Stadium.
Henderson is also a major doubt for this Saturday's Premier League showdown with Arsenal at Anfield but Liverpool are hopeful his absence won't extend beyond that.
The loss of Henderson is a setback for the Reds as they look to build on their victory over Tottenham a fortnight ago and maintain a challenge for Champions League qualification.
Henderson's absence is likely to mean a recall for Germany international Emre Can, who was dropped to the bench for the visit of Spurs.
