Spanish journalist says Reds are interested in striker
The summer isn't far away now. And with the warm nights and BBQs comes a plague of transfer rumours...
And one man caught up in them is Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams.
The Athletic Bilbao forward is linked with a move to Liverpool on a regular basis, but a £42m release clause in his contract - plus a return of just seven goals this season - mean a transfer looks a little unrealistic.
So it’s no surprise that Spanish football expert Guillem Balague was asked about the situation for his Sky Sports column.
Balague often issues updates on Spanish-based 'transfer targets', and he said that while the Reds are tracking the striker, don’t expect a £42m move anytime soon.
He said: "He was followed by Liverpool and has a €50m buyout clause. I’m not sure any team would be willing to pay that right now because he has not proved that valuation.
"He is in no rush but he is certainly looking abroad should he move.”
