Arsenal star wants to go to Liverpool
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has turned down a move to Chelsea - and wants to go to Liverpool.
Mirror Sport reported last night he was getting cold feet and he has now made it clear he will not move to Stamford Bridge despite them agreeing a £40million deal.
It now leaves the door open for Liverpool who are also keen and if they cannot complete the deal then he will stay at Arsenal.
Oxlade-Chamberlain only has a year left on his contract and has made it clear he will not sign a new despite being offered £180,000-a-week.
Chelsea will be fuming that they have missed out on Oxlade-Chamberlain as another target gets away.
Oxlade-Chamberlain had asked for more time to think about the move and stayed with England before eventually deciding to turn it down.
Liverpool have yet to table a formal bid let alone agree a fee, as the Blues have, but it is believed Arsenal could be tempted to sell to the Anfield giants despite bad blood between the clubs dating back to the Gunners' botched move for Luis Suarez four years ago.
Liverpool believe Oxlade-Chamberlain could be their most likely option in the market now, as French champions Monaco do not want to sell Thomas Lemar.
The former Southampton man could yet stay at Arsenal for the final year of his contract.
