Liverpool open Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain talks
Liverpool have made their move to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal.
The Reds have opened discussions with the Gunners over a deal for the England international.
Arsenal told Liverpool earlier this summer that they weren't willing to sell them the 24-year-old, but after he rejected the chance to seal a £40million move to Chelsea earlier this week they have had a change of heart.
Rather than risk losing Oxlade-Chamberlain for nothing next summer, Arsenal are now prepared to do business with the Reds.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are willing to match Chelsea's offer.
Oxlade-Chamberlain has been keen on a move to Anfield all summer. He believes working with Jurgen Klopp will help take his game to the next level after growing frustrated with life at the Emirates.
The former Southampton man also believes Klopp will give him the chance to play in his favoured midfield role.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is currently with the England squad preparing for Friday’s World Cup qualifier against Malta.
