PSG open to Julian Draxler offers
Liverpool and Arsenal have been given a huge boost in their pursuit of Julian Draxler with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly ready to sell in January.
Draxler has found minutes hard to come by for PSG this season following the acquisitions of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in the summer.
He has started nine of their opening 16 games in all competitions and has scored just two goals.
But the signings of Neymar and Mbappe has left PSG under pressure to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.
Neymar cost a world record £198million from Barcelona while Mbappe will end up costing £166m once he moves from Monaco on a permanent deal in the summer.
And that means PSG are willing to sell Draxler in order to obey Europe’s ruling body, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Draxler has barely been in the French capital for a season having joined from Wolfsburg in January earlier this year.
But his time with PSG could be set to come to an abrupt end with the Ligue 1 giants alerting Premier League clubs of his availability.
Both Liverpool and Arsenal are known admirers of the attacking midfielder with the latter failing with an attempt to sign him in the summer.
Jurgen Klopp also tried to sign Draxler before PSG came in with a big-money offer and the player revealed why he turned down a move to Anfield.
“It’s not about Jurgen Klopp, about Liverpool or about different clubs from England,” he said back in May.
“It was just my opinion that I am the best player for PSG at the moment - so that’s what I decided."
