Liverpool on Leon Goretzka alert
Leon Goretzka will reveal his next move in January – hinting that he could be heading abroad next season.
But the player admits he is facing a huge dilemma over his future.
Goretzka’s Schalke deal expires in the summer, with no sign of him agreeing a new deal with the Bundesliga club.
He will be able to negotiate with non-German clubs next month, with Liverpool one of a number of top European sides monitoring his situation.
The Reds are keen on the 22-year-old but will face competition from a host of clubs, with Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Juventus and Arsenal also linked.
But with the midfielder’s admission he will know his future in January, it has raised belief he will seek to play in a different league.
"I have to find out for myself what the next step should be," he said following his side’s 2-2 draw with Koln at the weekend.
"I have to consider a million things. I am a person who is very meticulous in such decisions. I play through all the scenarios. So I need time.
"There doesn’t exist a deadline, but I think we are in the final phase.
"The final decision will be made in January."
