Liverpool seal deal for Falkirk teenager
Liverpool have struck a £200,000 deal with Scottish club Falkirk for the signing of young defender Tony Gallacher.
The 18-year-old full-back spent a week on trial at the Kirkby Academy earlier this month and impressed to such an extent that the Reds moved quickly to secure his services on a permanent basis.
Gallacher will link up with Neil Critchley's under-23s rather than Jurgen Klopp's senior squad at Melwood and is viewed as one for the future.
The Scotland youth international has previously attracted attention from the likes of Manchester United and Stoke City.
Gallacher made his senior debut for Falkirk in a Scottish Cup tie against Fraserburgh when he was just 16 in November 2015.
He has since gone on to clock up 26 first-team appearances for the Scottish Championship outfit.
Gallacher could make his debut for Liverpool Under-23s in Sunday's Premier League 2 clash with Derby County at Prenton Park.
