Nabil Fekir talks planned after Champions League final
Liverpool are set to open talks for Lyon star man Nabil Fekir, according to reports in France.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a move for the playmaker in recent weeks as they look to bolster their squad over the summer.
Fekir appeared to say his goodbyes during Lyon's final game of the season against Nice on Saturday, and the feeling around the club is that he will not return after this summer's World Cup.
But according to French newspaper, L'Equipe, Liverpool have not yet opened talks for the 24-year-old.
However, the publication states Jurgen Klopp will begin negotiations after the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
Fekir spoke out about his future over the weekend, telling RMC Sport: “I don’t know, frankly. I had a great season here, with the staff, the crowd and exceptional players.
“There were a lot of emotions and we finished it in style.
“I gave everything for Lyon, we’ll see for the future."
And during the clash with Nice, a Canal + commentator seemingly confirmed Fekir's departure.
"He will have to join Liverpool next season," said the reporter.
"He wanted to leave the club in the Champions League - for the moment it is."
Fekir has been called up to Didier Deschamps' France squad for the World Cup next month.
