AC Milan slash Donnarumma price
AC Milan have slashed their asking price for Liverpool target Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Liverpool are understood to be keen on landing the young goalkeeper.
At the age of 19, he is already being tipped as the long-term replacement for Gianluigi Buffon in the Italy goal.
Milan had been requesting around £61million for Donnarumma earlier in the year.
But Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport claim the San Siro club have reduced that valuation.
According to the report, AC Milan are now willing to sell for just £35m.
The reason for the drop is Milan’s desperate need to raise funds following a disappointing season in Serie A.
Their Chinese owners pumped £150m in the transfer funds last summer but Milan still sixth in Serie A.
Failure to qualify for the Champions League next season means the club may have to sell some of their top stars to meet Financial Fair Play obligations.
And that means Donnarumma could be on his way.
Corriere dello Sport claim Liverpool are ready to launch their initial offer for Donnarumma this month.
However, they are likely to put off any transfer activity until after Saturday’s Champions League final with Real Madrid.
It is added that Paris Saint-Germain have already moved on from their interest in Donnarumma, having initially appeared like the obvious destination for the young Italian.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, are said to be eyeing Roma’s Alisson as a replacement for Keylor Navas, with moves for David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois seeming increasingly unlikely.
