Liverpool receive Adrien Rabiot boost as Madrid cool interest
Liverpool have received a boost in their bid to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Reports earlier this week suggested Real Madrid had struck a verbal agreement with the 24-year-old who is out of contract in the French capital this summer.
But Spanish outlet Marca say that is not the case - and Los Blancos have non intention of taking Rabiot to the Bernabeu.
Rabiot is desperate for an escape route from the Parc des Princes and Liverpool have been linked with a swoop for his services.
He has not featured for the Parisians since December and is the subject of a disciplinary process by the Ligue 1 leaders after he partied on the night of their Champions League exit to Manchester United.
Rabiot was most strongly linked with Barcelona but the Catalan giants' acquisition of Frenkie De Jong means they no longer need to strengthen in the middle of the park.
French international Rabiot came through the ranks at PSG and has made 150 league appearances for the club.
He has spent his entire senior career so far in Paris, barring a loan spell with Toulouse in 2013.
Rabiot has represented France at Under-16, U17, U18, U19, U20 and U21 level before making six senior appearances for Les Bleus.
