Liverpool are planning to start their summer spending on Fiorentina attacker Federico Chiesa, according to reports in Italy.

Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb claims that the European champions are planning to join the race for the young forward, but might be unlikely to secure his signature.

Serie A champions Juventus are considered to be the frontrunners for Chiesa, who was ever-present in his side’s league campaign, playing in 37 of 38 matches.

The 21-year-old has a contract at Fiorentina until 2022, so there is no pressure on the Florence side to let him leave any time soon.

But according to reports, he is currently the subject of a four-way transfer battle, with his current club also keen to keep hold of him.

While Juventus are keen to secure Chiesa's services, Inter Milan are also interested as well as Liverpool.
