Kai Havertz drops transfer hint
Kai Havertz has opened up on transfer rumours linking him to a host of top clubs this summer, including Liverpool.
The highly-talented midfielder is considered one of the brightest young players in European football.
The 20-year-old was linked with a number of outfits over the course of the transfer window and recent reports in Germany suggested Premier League clubs such as Liverpool , Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal were among eight teams interested in securing his services.
Havertz also emerged as a target for Bayern Munich towards the end of the summer, as did long-time Reds linked striker Timo Werner.
He did not secure a move but has now spoken out about the rumours linking him to a host of Europe's elite clubs and said "we will see what happens next summer".
"They haven't scared me off," Havertz told Sky in Germany via Bulinews.com.
"I don't know exactly what it was like with Timo [Werner], but it just didn't happen for me this year. I think there were a number of reasons why.
"But I'm happy to be here and stay in Leverkusen for another year. We'll see what will happens next summer."
Havertz can play on either wing, as well as behind the striker and has already earned three senior caps for the German national side.
After scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists last season, he has started this campaign in similar vein, notching twice in four games.
