Liverpool are reportedly in a three-way transfer race to sign Valencia star Ferran Torres, according to reports.

Torres broke into Valencia’s first-team back in 2017 and the 19-year-old has alerted Europe’s elite to his potential with a string of impressive performances for the La Liga outfit this term.

According to SportBild, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are both chasing the highly promising Spain U21 international ahead of the January transfer window.

The report claims Liverpool are also very interested in Torres, with Jurgen Klopp on the hunt for attacking reinforcements to provide support for Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Though Torres is tied into a deal with Valencia until 2021, the Spanish club are open to offers for the youngster.

It’s understood Valencia would do business for a fee of around €20m (£17m) at the end of the season.

Liverpool are also looking to strengthen in midfield and, earlier this month, Lewis Cook was heavily linked with the Merseyside giants.

However the Bournemouth and England midfielder played down rumours of a potential move to Anfield.

"I have just started playing football here [again]," Cook said.
