Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Trabzonspor goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir as they search for back-up to Alisson, according to the player's agent.

Mirror Football reported earlier in the season that Reds scouts have travelled to watch Cakir in action and had been impressed by the Turkey international.

Now Cakir's agent Engin Kirkpinar has claimed that four English sides are tracking the 23-year-old - and says Liverpool are one of them.

However, he warned that Liverpool would not be able to sign him in the January transfer window, insisting that Turkish side Trabzonspor would only consider a bid after the end of the season.

"Liverpool are one of four English sides keeping close tabs on Ugurcan," Kirkpinar told Turkish-football.com.

"Liverpool are among the sides interested in Cakir, and they have been monitoring his progress.

"Trabzonspor value Cakir as being worth a minimum £18m, and will not sell him in January.

"An end-of-season move could however be on the cards."

According to the Turkish Broadcaster Star TV, Liverpool contacted Trabzonspor to notify them that they plan to keep an eye on Cakir after he impressed with eight saves in a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahce.
