Liverpool have got transfer stance on Ryan Fraser absolutely right
It would appear that Liverpool have got their transfer stance on Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser spot-on.
The 25-year-old is in the final year of his contract at the Vitality Stadium and was expected to be in demand come the New Year.
But so far this season Fraser has been unable to recapture the superb form he showed in the last campaign.
The Scotland international scored seven goals in 2018-19 as well as creating 14 more - with only Eden Hazard (15) registering more assists in the Premier League.
That form led Fraser, who has one goal and two assists this season, to being linked to clubs at the top end of the top flight, including Liverpool.
And last week reports emerged suggesting the Reds were readying a bid for the former Aberdeen wideman.
However the ECHO understands Liverpool have no interest in Fraser with Jurgen Klopp more than happy with his attacking options.
Bournemouth Echo sports reporter, Tom Crocker, says he can understand that decision.
"He has not played as well this season,” said Crocker.
"I think the whole situation has been playing on his mind a bit and the character that he is, I think he just likes focusing on the football rather than everything around it.
"He is not scoring goals or creating chances and the fans may be starting to turn a little bit.
"He had one really good season and there was a reason why big clubs were looking at him.
"He did so well last year, but I don’t think he has managed to live up to the hype this season.
"I think the next few months will be quite big for him in that respect as to whether he signs a new deal at Bournemouth or will play well enough to get a move elsewhere."
Crocker added: "He has to get that form back if he is going to get a new move."
