Expansion work on Anfield's Main Stand reached a significant milestone on Friday as the 650-tonne truss which supports the structure was erected.

Two 252ft-high cranes were used to place the 140m-long truss over the stand before it was secured in place to mark the completion of one of the most complex parts of the Main Stand redevelopment.
