Robbie Fowler cannot wait to play a part in yet another historic Anfield moment when the newly-expanded Main Stand at the home of Liverpool FC opens.

The legendary former Reds striker is set to feature at the second of two test events in the coming days which will help the club prepare for welcoming 8,500 extra fans per game into the redeveloped tribune this season.

Fowler will feature alongside Michael Beale's U23s team and the Liverpool Ladies as they host an open training session for supporters on Monday.

The man nicknamed 'God' created countless special memories at the famous old ground thanks to his supreme talents as a footballer, but he is equally excited to be involved in a different sort of landmark next week.

"Anfield is a truly special place that holds many fond memories for me and I'm delighted to be a part of the Main Stand opening activities that mark a very important moment in the club's history," he said.

"It will be brilliant to have another 8,500 fans in the stands this season, and I can't wait to experience the extra noise and atmosphere that creates."
