The world famous 'This is Anfield' sign was restored to the Main Stand tunnel ahead of Liverpool's first home game of 2016-17 against Leicester City on Saturday.

The iconic plaque, which was taken down in May as work on the redeveloped stand continued, was placed back above the exit to the pitch at the stadium by 17-year-old Thomas Sefton, an apprentice joiner at LFC, on Friday.

The Main Stand was officially opened at a special ceremony this morning ahead of the Reds' maiden game in front of the new tribune.
