Liverpool's latest unorthodox training routine was an entertaining headers-only match during Friday's final session in Germany.

Amid the intense preparation work being carried out at the pre-season camp this week, Jürgen Klopp and his staff have infused different games and challenges to sharpen the players’ minds and bodies.

This time that involved an energetic contest in which only the head could be used in play and the hands to restart proceedings when the ball touched the ground.

“It’s a funny game,” Klopp explained to Liverpoolfc.com.

“We wanted to do set-pieces and in set-pieces you have to do a lot of heading, so it was a little bit of a warm-up and a game they can really enjoy.

“It’s not too serious, you only have to be concentrated otherwise you knock your heads against each other! It’s good to watch.”
