'It has to be a top performance to beat Bayern 3-0'
Only a 'top performance' earns a 3-0 victory at the home of Bayern Munich, claims Emre Can.
Liverpool did just that on Tuesday night in the Audi Cup as goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge provided the result Jürgen Klopp’s side merited for the manner in which they picked apart the hosts.
Can made his second appearance of pre-season, returning to his former club, and after the final whistle he explained why the display deserves plaudits despite the fact it was a friendly.
“If you win 3-0 against Bayern Munich the performance has to be top,” the midfielder told Liverpoolfc.com at the Allianz Arena.
“I think we did it very, very well as a team. We were very compact defensively and offensively we played good, quick football.
“I don’t remember a chance for Bayern Munich and if you don’t let them have a chance, it’s a big performance. I know it’s a friendly game but everyone wants to win here.”

Liverpool’s attacking players caught the eye once again, with the pace of Mane and Salah providing support to Roberto Firmino while Philippe Coutinho dropped deeper during the first half.
And the quality of those at the front of Klopp’s system is making life easier for the teammates trying to offer them service.
“When you have quick players like them and you are a midfield player it’s an amazing feeling,” says Can.
“You can always pass to them and always give them the final pass. They are just so quick.”
The Reds will now contest the Audi Cup final against Atletico Madrid tonight – with live coverage available on LFCTV and LFCTV GO.
The Spanish club recovered from a goal down to defeat Napoli in Tuesday’s other game but are set to face a Liverpool side who have won five out of six fixtures this pre-season.
“Again, it’s an interesting match. Atletico are a top team, everybody knows that, but we want to win the tournament, of course,” added Can.
