Local residents enjoy special night at FA Cup derby

A number of community activities took place at Anfield on Friday night as Liverpool triumphed over neighbours Everton in the FA Cup third round.

Local residents from community groups and charities, including West Everton Community Council and Shrewsbury House, were invited through the club’s Red Neighbours programme to watch the game from an executive box in the Main Stand – with many of the guests attending the stadium for the very first time.

LFC Foundation participants from the Premier League BT Respect 4 All programme also enjoyed a special hospitality experience thanks to main sponsor Standard Chartered, who donated their executive box for the evening.

Before kick-off, the guests were surprised by a visit from LFC CEO Peter Moore, who popped in to chat to the groups and welcome them to Anfield.

Fifteen children from local charity CHICS, which supports children and young people suffering from cancer, also attended the game through the Red Neighbours programme.
