Friday July 30, 2021 is the last opportunity for this year for those bursting with great ideas to apply for financial support.
The fund, which launched in October 2020, was created by LFC Foundation and supported by Liverpool Football Club. Its aim is to support and assist local groups or organisations who want to create a lasting project or initiative in the L4, L5 and/or L6 postcode areas within the Anfield and Everton wards.
In April 2019, the club committed to make a donation into a community grant fund each time a concert or other major non-football event is held at Anfield, with its sole purpose to be reinvested into the local area.
To thank the local community for its continued support, LFC’s Red Neighbours team has agreed to match the £30,000 donation, meaning registered charities and other not-for-profit community groups and organisations who meet the fund’s eligibility criteria can apply for a grant of up to a total of £60,000 – which represents the total sum of the 2019-20 funding pot.
Applications already received have been notified of the deadline extension. Any interested parties who have not yet applied and who meet the criteria can find more information about the Community Initiatives Fund here and should send their application in by Friday July 30.
Matt Parish, chief executive of LFC Foundation, said: “We know the last 12 months have been tough on our local community, so extending this deadline gives worthwhile causes more time to apply. We also know the ‘Covid Effect’ will have unfortunately meant that more community support is needed.”
The Community Initiatives Fund invites local groups or organisations to bid for funding that will help to deliver new and exciting projects and help make a positive lasting impact on our neighbourhood.
The fund is being managed and administered by the club’s official charity, LFC Foundation.
