Jürgen Klopp explains his five changes for United clash

Jürgen Klopp has explained the reasons for his five changes against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have been brought back into the starting XI for the crunch Premier League clash, having been on the bench for the goalless draw with FC Porto in midweek.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson also return to full-back duty.

“It’s about being 100 per cent fit for today, being fresh, having the right options, having this little more offensive action in one position, little bit more defensive skill on the other position. That’s pretty much all,” said Klopp.

“They are all fit and it’s always a hard decision – I know that. But in the end, it’s for me like all the other managers: at 11 [players], I have to close the door. That’s what I did. That’s absolutely normal.

“That was the thing – to find a good setup for this game, the right mixture. That was the plan, hopefully it works.”
