Jack Dunn was on the mark as Liverpool U21s got back to winning ways with a 3-1 win away at Birmingham City in a friendly encounter on Thursday.

Following Monday's undeserved loss at Reading, Michael Beale took the opportunity to rotate his squad and the young Reds produced an impressive display.

Dunn and Brazilian Allan scored two fantastic goals to give the Reds a 2-0 lead at the break and although the home side pulled a goal back, summer recruit from Barcelona Bobby Adekanye scored a fine individual goal to put the result beyond doubt.

Reflecting on the victory, Beale told Liverpoolfc.com: “The lads did well and we scored some fantastic goals.

“Jack and Allan hit two wonder goals and then after good play between Matty Virtue and Will Marsh, Bobby cuts in from the right and finds the bottom corner with a great finish.

“Bobby and Ryan Kent came off the bench in the second half and caused Birmingham a lot of problems.”

Liverpool U21s: Firth, McLaughlin (Cleary 45), Polgar (Kent 60), Brewitt, Virtue, Allan, Madger Gomes, Paulo Alves (Adekanye 60), Dunn, Randall, Marsh.
