Ojo: It was good to be back
Sheyi Ojo was delighted to get minutes under his belt as he featured for Liverpool U21s in their game against Norwich City at Carrow Road last night.
The 18-year-old, who is returning from injury, played the entire 90 minutes of the Barclays U21 Premier League clash with the Canaries that finished 0-0.
The England youth international is currently out on loan at Wolverhampton Wanderers, but the rules of the agreement allow the youngster to play for Michael Beale’s side.
“It's a great feeling,” he told Liverpoolfc.com. “But the most important thing was for the team to do well.
“[It was good] for me to get fitness because I haven't played for two weeks now so I wanted to come back and stay fit.
“I've got a game for Wolves on Boxing Day so hopefully I'll be involved in that.
“I thought we did well overall. The first half was a bit difficult because we were under pressure. But then as the game went on, I got into the game a bit more and we started to do well.
“We probably should have nicked the three points. The main positive was that we did well as a team and hopefully we can build on that.”
Ojo is enjoying a successful spell out on loan with the Championship club, making 18 appearances and finding the net twice to date.
He added: “I think I've done well. I think one criticism would be my consistency. I'm still young and I'm looking to improve every day. Hopefully I can get better.”
