Toni Gomes netted twice as Liverpool U18s produced a brilliant display to beat Fulham 5-1 in London on Saturday morning.

Having suffered defeats to Blackburn Rovers and Reading in the first two fixtures of the end of season play-offs, Neil Critchley's side bounced back in style in the capital.

Gomes was unstoppable at times during a two-goal display, while Ben Woodburn, Ovie Ejaria and Herbie Kane also netted for the visitors.

It was the perfect way for the young Reds to prepare for next Saturday's mini-derby with Everton at Finch Farm - a game you can watch live on LFCTV.

Reflecting on the victory, Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "It was a great response from the boys and I am delighted with them. It was a great team performance.

"It was goalless at half-time and we had missed some good chances, but the boys really stepped it up in the second half and were outstanding.

"Toni's first goal was a goal of the season contender - it was some strike."
