Reds duo Jose Enrique and Alberto Moreno visited Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital today to take a tour of the new cystic fibrosis ward and spend some time with young patients.

While signing autographs and posing for photographs, Jose said: "It's a very humbling experience for me to come to the hospital and see the patients here. If we can give them some joy while we're here then that's great."

Alberto added: "It is fantastic to see the smiles on these kids’ faces. It's so nice to spend time here and hopefully we can brighten their day."

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation is one of the largest specialist hospitals in the country, providing heart and lung surgery, cardiology and respiratory medicine, and diagnostic imaging, both in the hospital and out in the community.

In addition to the hospital’s work as one of the leading heart centres in the country, they provide care to young patients with cystic fibrosis.

In September, the hospital completed a multi-million pound project to transform the services that they provide to all their cystic fibrosis patients, which included the opening of a new ward.
