Mignolet supports Foundation's 5v5 tournament
Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet visited Pitz Soccer Centre last week to watch the LFC Foundation Kicks 5v5 cup final.
The club’s official charity supported the Kicks event, which Mignolet watched before meeting the teams and taking part in a Q&A session. The Reds goalkeeper also congratulated the winning team and presented them with their medals.
Kicks is a nationally run football programme aimed at young people aged between 14 and 25 based in disadvantaged areas.
Belgium international Mignolet said: "It was brilliant to attend the LFC Foundation 5v5 tournament and see first-hand what a fantastic job the LFC Foundation do.
"There were some really talented players out there and tournaments like this give youngsters the opportunity to develop their footballing skills."
Andrea Cooper, head of LFC Foundation said: “It was great to have Simon visiting the Foundation’s 5v5 tournament. Kicks uses football to engage with hundreds of young people across our city and this is another fine example of the excellent work that the Foundation does.
"Simon is such a positive role model for our Kicks participants and can hopefully inspire many of the players involved to continue playing football in the local community."
