Stagecoach invests £2 million on Anfield bus service
Supporters visiting Anfield on matchdays can now travel in comfort and style from the city centre, courtesy of Stagecoach.
The company has invested £2 million in 13 new single decker buses to service its number 19 route serving Anfield.
The route covers Liverpool city centre, Everton Road, Everton F.C. Walton Hall Avenue, East Lancashire Road and Kirkby, allowing supporters easy access to and from the ground on matchdays.
The service runs every 10 minutes and allows Liverpool fans to disembark at Robson Street.
Stagecoach’s flat adult fare costs just £2, while it’s just £1 for children.
Elisabeth Tasker, Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire managing director, said: “We never want our passengers to walk alone, which is why we’ve invested in a fleet of brand new buses to service this route.
“This great, efficient service will help fans and their family and friends get quickly and affordably to and from the Anfield ground.
“Anyone who knows the city, knows how congested the roads to and from the club can get, particularly on match days.
“We encourage people – especially those who might not have considered catching the bus before, to try out this comfortable and greener option.”
