Liverpool Football Club has committed to provide supporters with the opportunity to see the Premier League trophy in the safest possible conditions at a time when it is appropriate to do so.

In recent days, the club has undertaken a series of pilot events under social distancing guidelines with established crowd management practices which have been enhanced by a more restrictive approach as required due to COVID-19.

While each event was a success from a safety perspective, the trial process confirmed that it will not be possible to meet the overwhelming demand during the current period.

As a result, a larger scale event will not take place until a later date. We would like to thank fans for their patience on this matter whilst also reinforcing our commitment to celebrate when it is right to do so.

The Premier League trophy has already been taken on a tour of local NHS hospitals on Merseyside and further community initiatives are planned in the coming days.

Until the time is right, the Premier League trophy will reside in the club’s museum from next week and be available to view as part of the LFC Stadium Tour, The Anfield Origins Tour and The LFC Story (museum only). All tours and museum entries must be booked in advance, with entrance into the Premier League trophy exhibition in allocated time slots. Season ticket holders and members will receive a 30 per cent discount on the LFC Stadium Tour and 10 per cent discount on The LFC Story. Tom Cassidy, senior manager of tourism at Liverpool FC, said: “As ever, the interest from supporters in seeing our latest piece of silverware has been incredible and in normal circumstances we would host a viewing event like we did for the Champions League trophy last year.

“Unfortunately, that is not possible in the current circumstances so we have committed to hosting an event in the future which prioritises the health of our supporters whilst also maximising the number of fans who will be able to participate.

“While a date cannot be established at this stage, our commitment is clear and we look forward to a time when it will be safe and possible.”
