LFC to mark 32nd anniversary of Hillsborough
Liverpool Football Club will pay tribute to the 96 supporters who lost their lives at Hillsborough, during Wednesday's match against Real Madrid at Anfield.
On the eve of the 32nd anniversary of the tragedy, a minute’s silence will be observed prior to kick-off to remember the 96 fans who died as a result of the events that occurred at the FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest on April 15, 1989.
The team will wear black armbands as a mark of respect, and tributes will be displayed on LED boards surrounding the pitch and within a commemorative edition of the matchday programme.
On Thursday April 15, players and staff across the club will observe a minute’s silence in memory of the 96 children, women and men who will never be forgotten.
The club will lay floral wreaths at the Hillsborough memorial at Anfield, flags will be flown at half-mast, and the Anfield retail store will close from 1pm for the remainder of the day.
