Gomez and Karius make special visit to meet local schoolchildren
Liverpool duo Joe Gomez and Loris Karius paid a special visit to St Paul's Catholic Junior School in West Derby this week.
The visit was part of an initiative for players to spend more time in the local community, giving even more children the chance to meet them face to face.
The move comes in a bid to create a safer environment for young fans to collect signatures of their favourite players, since health and safety means supporters can no longer do this outside Melwood.
The players met with 120 Year 4 pupils at the school and took part in a short Q&A, signed autographs and posed for pictures.
Karius said: “The players love getting out into the local community to meet our young fans, so it’s brilliant that the club are doing more of these visits.”
Eddie Flood, headmaster at St Paul’s Catholic Junior School, added: “It is brilliant to be able to welcome Joe and Loris down to the school to meet so many of our pupils. Visits like this are a great way to give back and we can only thank Liverpool FC for organising this.”
