Robbie Fowler meets local pupils at Anfield
LFC ambassador and Reds legend Robbie Fowler was on hand to offer his advice to a group of local pupils at a career speed networking event at Anfield on Thursday.
The event – the second of its kind held by the club’s Red Neighbours programme this year – saw 48 children from four local high schools meet with LFC staff to learn about their professional journeys and gain advice on how to forge a successful career in the football industry.
The pupils - from Alsop High School, North Liverpool Academy, Notre Dame Catholic College and The Academy of St Francis Of Assisi – listened to Robbie speak of his path to success and his time as a player, before engaging with each member of LFC staff to learn about the various different careers at the club.
Fowler said: "It's brilliant to come along to events like this and offer some advice to the local kids.
"It’s nice to be in a position to give something back to the local community and hopefully I’ve been able to help some of the pupils by giving them an insight into this industry."
The Red Neighbours programme supports local residents and schools in the Anfield community, focusing on four key areas: food poverty and education; support for the elderly community; encouraging a physically active community; and creating memorable experiences for young people.
