Premier League trophy visits Anfield school
Florence Melly Community Primary School had a special visit from the Premier League Trophy this week as part of Premier League Primary Stars initiative.
The programme, which is delivered by LFC Foundation coaches in schools across Merseyside, includes a free online resource for teachers and parents and uses the appeal of the Premier League and professional football clubs to inspire children to learn, be active and develop important life skills.
Florence Melly was selected to receive the visit after a parent signed up for the Primary Stars programme and nominated the school to be included in the Premier League Primary Stars Trophy Tour of England and Wales.
Academy players Paulo Alves, Nathaniel Phillips and Liam Coyle - along with LFC mascot Mighty Red - also headed to the north Liverpool school for the morning to take part in a Primary Stars assembly with over 350 pupils, before helping out with classroom activities and a skills and drills session.
In the afternoon, LFC Foundation coaches hosted a festival of activity for pupils, which involved an array of different sports sessions that the Foundation delivers in the community on a daily basis.
