Red Neighbours calls for support for foodbank collections at Anfield
This season, Liverpool Football Club is continuing its support of Fans Supporting Foodbanks with foodbank collections taking place at every home game at Anfield - and you can donate ahead of Saturday's encounter with Huddersfield.
In 2016-17, thanks to our fans’ support, we helped to provide families in north Liverpool with more than 11,000 meals.
Supporters attending the game can drop off any non-perishable food donations at the foodbank collection points, which are located on Anfield Road, next to the club’s Family Park, and inside the new LFC Anfield superstore.
Some priority foodbank items include:
- UHT milk
- Long-life juice or cordial
- Jar pasta/curry sauce
- Tinned meat
- Tinned vegetables
- Instant mash
- Rice pudding/custard
- Jam
- Toiletries
- Cup-a-Soup/noodles
- Washing tablets
All food collected will be donated to the North Liverpool Foodbank, which provides local people in need with essential three to four-day food parcels.
LFC’s Red Neighbours programme is backing the Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative, which aims to help tackle local food poverty.
Food poverty and food education is one of Red Neighbours’ key priorities, which were chosen after extensive consultation with the Anfield community about local needs.
