LFC legends take part in Run for the 96
A host of Liverpool legends joined the club’s CEO Peter Moore to take part in the Run for the 96 5k at Stanley Park on Saturday.
The annual 5k run celebrates the lives of the 96 Liverpool supporters who died as a result of the Hillsborough disaster and this year’s edition saw the likes of Robbie Fowler, Jamie Carragher and Alan Kennedy taking part.
Fowler said: “It was amazing to see so many people coming together, both Reds and Blues running side-by-side to remember the 96 - what a great city this is.”
The LFC Foundation, Everton in the Community, the 23 Foundation and Stanley Park C.I.C support the Run for the 96.
The family-friendly event was not just for runners. Many chose to walk the 5K or 1K routes, while LFC Foundation coaches hosted ‘Open Goals’ sessions, inviting kids and adults to take part in fun fitness activities.
The LFC Foundation and Everton in the Community also delivered Inclusion Football sessions.
