Liverpool would like to thank fans who made a donation to the foodbank ahead of the opening Premier League fixture against Norwich City earlier this month.

A total of 725kg of food was collected at the game and by LFC staff, which equates to 48 emergency food parcels providing over 450 meals.

As part of LFC's dedication to tackle food poverty, the club's Red Neighbours community programme backs the Fans Supporting Foodbanks initiative and hosts foodbank collections at every home game.

Collected items are made into three-day emergency food parcels for local people in crisis in North Liverpool, which incorporates the club's surrounding postcodes of L4, L5 and L6.

Last season, Red Neighbours collected over 9,000kg of food - that's a total of 3,037 people fed.

Supporters attending games can drop off any non-perishable food donations at the foodbank collection points, which are located on Anfield Road, next to the club's Family Park, and inside the Anfield superstore on Walton Breck Road as well as Homebaked bakery on Oakfield Road.

The Anfield Road collection point is open three hours before kick-off and remains open for 15 minutes after kick-off. Food can be dropped off at the Anfield superstore during its opening hours and at Homebaked before kick-off.

Some priority items include:

  • UHT milk
  • Long-life juice or cordial
  • Coffee
  • Jar pasta/curry sauce
  • Tinned meat
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Instant mash
  • Rice pudding/custard
  • Jam
  • Toiletries
  • Cup-a-soup/noodles

All food collected will be donated to the North Liverpool Foodbank.
