A time for action. A lifetime of memories. The ‘This Means More Challenge’ returns for 2021.

The ‘This Means More Challenge’ engages Liverpool FC’s global network of Official Liverpool Supporters Clubs (OLSCs) to come together and help support their local communities through a series of fun and creative challenges.

Last September, OLSCs from across the world supported more than 6,000 people during a weekend of action. Overall challenge winners Myanmar wowed fans and judges alike with a number of community initiatives, including giving out free face masks, providing care packages to students, refugees and care workers, tree planting and giving blood.

Madrid were the winners of the LFC Family Award with a 96km family-friendly trek to raise funds for their local foodbank; Kenya won the Original Award by donating sustainable feminine hygiene packs; and Las Vegas were awarded the YNWA creativity award for writing and performing a brand new song for Liverpool’s No.7, James Milner.

This year, we want even more OLSCs to get involved so collectively we can make an even bigger impact across the globe. There are 12 brand new challenges for OLSCs to take part in across 10 days of action from August 13-22. The pandemic continues to impact communities across the globe and activities have been designed to ensure they can be completed in a COVID-safe way.

Fans can then upload videos of their activities to a dedicated portal, where a judging panel including LFC Foundation chief executive Matt Parish, LFC Foundation trustee Linda Pizzuti Henry and former Reds players will decide the winning entries.

OLSCs can be in with the chance to win exclusive LFC prizes in the five main categories: overall winner, most family-friendly, most innovative, most creative and – new for 2021 – the most impactful challenge.

The winning team will also enjoy a very special live video call and Q&A with Jürgen Klopp and have a special winner’s plaque on display at Anfield.

All teams will receive a certificate of participation and an invitation to the virtual celebration and awards ceremony taking place in October.

“We were totally astounded and very moved by the amazing community activities delivered by our OLSCs around the world last year. It really shows how we are the greatest football family in the world,” said Parish.

“This year, we are aiming to make the ‘This Means More Challenge’ even bigger and better, with 12 new challenges that will draw on the passion and enthusiasm our fans have to help others in need.”

OLSCs can register their branch with up to 15 team members by visiting www.liverpoolfc.com/thismeansmorechallenge.

Registration for the 2021 ‘This Means More Challenge’ closes on Wednesday August 11.
