LFC TV today celebrated its fourth birthday as new viewing figures confirmed that more fans than ever before are watching the channel.

The channel went on air for the first time ever on September 20 2007 with a live 11-minute news show, a 90 minute edition of of our phone-in show 'This is Anfield' and first ever edition of Kop 10, counting down the best ever Liverpool players of the Premier League era.

Launched originally as part of the Setanta Sports package, the channel, broadcast originally out of the Matchworks in Speke, quickly established itself as the most watched football club channel in the UK.

In 2009, following Setanta's collapse, the club took the decision to make the channel free to view for fans in the UK on the Sky platform - a first for any club in the British Isles - with viewing figures rising every year since. Last month, a new record was set when 838,000 viewers tuned in to watch the channel during a single week.

While Arsenal, Celtic and Rangers closed their TV stations down in 2009 and with Chelsea and Manchester United continuing to charge supporters a monthly fee to watch their in-house channels, LFC TV continues to bring hundreds of thousands of fans all the latest news, action and interaction every week completely free of charge.
