Kenny Dalglish has dismissed comparisons between himself and Luis Suarez.

With both players proving unstoppable while wearing the No.7 jersey for Liverpool, it was only a matter of time before the question arose.

Journalists brought up the subject after Suarez scored his fourth goal of the campaign to help his side to a 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Dalglish responded: "I think everyone has their own identity and it undermines the boy if you compare him with anyone else.

"He is Luis Suarez. He is a fantastic player and it is not fair to compare him with others who have been here before.

"Does he benefit from working with me? I don't know - I don't speak espanol! I don't know where he gets his ideas from but he is full of them and he certainly knows how to play.

"The fans take to him because he is so genuine and 100 per cent committed. The crowd love players like that. He has his own ideas and he is full of them. He is just a fantastic player."

Once Dalglish left the press room it was opposition manager Mick McCarthy's turn, and again reporters were keen to get his view of our Copa America winner.

"Suarez was awesome," he said. "He never does what you expect him to.

"You think he is going to pull the trigger, then he cuts it back. You think he is going to come short and he cuts in behind you.

"He is just a really good player. He is something else."
