Andy Carroll and Charlie Adam competed against one another in a bake off for Children in Need.

The pair had 90 minutes to bake a Victoria sponge and decorate it in a football theme.

The contest was staged at Melwood and organised by Blue Peter, with host Barney Harwood overseeing the action.

Charlie went for a football pitch design while Andy decorated his cake in the style of a leather football and made a model Pudsey out of icing.

It was all part of the 'Bake a Difference' campaign which aims to get people baking and raise money for Children in Need.

If you would like to get involved then visit the Blue Peter website where you can find recipe ideas and print your own 'Bake a Difference' cook book.

To find out who won watch Blue Peter on Monday 17 October at 4.30pm.
