Kuyt: We don't fear anybody
Dirk Kuyt believes Liverpool have hit their best form at the right time ahead of tonight's Anfield clash with top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
A double cup victory over both Manchester teams and an impressive 3-0 win at Wolves in midweek has given the squad confidence and a real self belief.
The Dutch international insists the players have responded in the perfect way to the defeat at Bolton.
"We were all very disappointed with the way we played at Bolton. We know we are better than that and three games can change your whole season as we have showed since then," Kuyt told Liverpoolfc.tv.
"We have the confidence, we are playing well so I don't think there is a better time for us to meet Spurs.
"We had a great week behind us with two great results against the Manchester teams and a great result v Wolves.
"We are very happy and we want to keep moving forward like this and take our form into the next game.
"It should be a great game. We were disappointed to lose to them at Anfield in our final home game of last season, so we are looking for a little bit of revenge as well.
"We have to keep it going and with the confidence we have got we shouldn't be afraid of anyone. We are playing at home and with our supporters right behind us we can't wait for this game."
Kuyt is also confident that Harry Redknapp's side will be facing a much improved Liverpool side from the one that faced them at White Hart Lane back in September, when the Reds ended up with nine men after the dismissals of Charlie Adam and Martin Skrtel.
"The game at White Hart Lane earlier this season is something we can't be really happy with and that was a bad day for us," said Kuyt.
"I know we finished up with nine men but they played really well that day.
"However, we showed against City and United we can compete with and beat the best. Spurs for me are one of the best sides in the league and it would be great to get the three points.
"The race for the top four is still open but the main thing is not to look at other sides like Spurs, Chelsea or Arsenal and we only look at ourselves and I'm sure we will be up there.
"We are right back in it now and if we win our games and play the way we know we can then we should be fine."
Kuyt also feels Spurs won't be relishing facing the likes of Andy Carroll and Craig Bellamy after the pair put in another highly impressive shift against Wolves in midweek.
The No.18 said: "It was great to see Andy scoring and the team playing so well.
"Andy is working really hard, he scored a great goal and I think he has done really well in the last couple of games, but the most important thing is the team is playing well.
"Craig has been unbelievable. We didn't pay a transfer fee to bring him back to this club and his performances have been unbelievable.
"He's a great professional and I know that from his first period with us. Now he is back and he looks even better.
"He is really professional in training and is always trying to help the lads. He's great for the team and we are delighted to have him on our side."
The last time Liverpool beat Tottenham was back in January 2010 when Kuyt was the hero with a double strike.
He added: "I remember that game and we played really well.
"I played more or less with Alberto Aquilani up front and he gave me a great pass for the first goal. The second was a twice taken penalty so hopefully I can score against them again on Monday."
Kuyt also revealed he has been sharing some good natured banter with Dutch colleague and key Tottenham schemer Rafael van der Vaart.
"We have shared a couple of texts and he is doing really well for Spurs," he added.
"He has been struggling with an injury but he told me he will be fine for Monday.
"He loves Anfield and he loves to play there. We just have to make sure he doesn't score on Monday.
"Spurs are one of the best sides in this league with some top quality players, but we have got great players as well with the likes of Suarez, Bellamy and Gerrard, so we have got nothing to be afraid of."
