The working week is almost over and the Red exodus to Wembley will soon be underway.

It's 5768 days since Liverpool Football Club last graced the national stadium and with over 48 hours to go until Sunday's showdown, excitement is already at fever pitch.

But for all the latest build-up ahead of Liverpool's big day in the capital make sure you don't miss a special Carling Cup Final edition of Friday Night Live.

Among the highlights on tonight's show is an exclusive interview with Steven Gerrard as he talks about the prospect of lifting the club's first trophy since 2006.

We'll also be hearing from our number nine Andy Carroll and Cardiff boss Malkay Mackay, as well as wallowing in some League Cup nostalgia and investigating the links between Liverpool and Sunday's opponents.

Joining Claire Rourke and Matt Critchley in the studio to help us set the scene will be five proud Liverpudlians who have delayed their journey south to be part of the show.

They are former Reds David Fairclough and Ian Callaghan, the current Lord Mayor of Liverpool Councillor Frank Prendergast, actor Neil Fitzmaurice and, last but not least, to tell us about his new Wembley poem, Dave Kirby.

The build-up to the Carling Cup final gets underway on LFC TV at 6pm tonight - so make sure you don't miss this very special Friday Night Live.

LFC TV is available free to view on SKY channel 434, Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack) and on LFC TV Online
