A member of the Liverpool FC Supporter's Committee will be taking part in a KiltWalk on Sunday to raise funds for Jamie Carragher’s 23 Foundation.

Les Wright is the committee's representative for supporters who attend away games and he will complete the 26 mile walk from Scotland's Hampden Park to Loch Lomond to raise money for disadvantaged children.

The KiltWalk event supports charities across Scotland who care for children with cancer, those who are disabled or have life-shortening illnesses. They also support children who are homeless, abused or neglected.

KiltWalk will donate 75 per cent of the funds raised by Les to the 23 Foundation so that the money can go towards giving local kids a chance too.

"I have two goddaughters in Glasgow," Les told Liverpoolfc.tv. "And even though they are not disabled, I thought the KiltWalk would be a really nice thing to do.

"Through conversations with the football club, my association with the Supporters Committee, and the 23 Foundation, we came up with an idea whereby we could all help each other out.

"It's a bit out of the ordinary; you wear a kilt, you have a big day out, you stay over for a couple of days and make a bit of a long weekend of it.

"I think the majority of the people up there will be Scottish. Scotland manager Craig Levein will signal the start of the race. And the race will be 'piped-out' by a Scottish army band. So it should be a bit of a good day.

"I'm glad to have helped support it. I'll be wearing my Liverpool top and my kilt for the 26 miles. The club have been magnificent in their help with regards to the promotion of this event.

"But we need more support if it's to be a success."
