OPTA statistics from Liverpool's home defeat to West Brom show how heavily involved Jose Enrique was for the Reds.

The Spaniard took more touches and played more passes than any player on the field. He also had high pass accuracy at 88.9 per cent. Of those who played the full 90 minutes, only Jordan Henderson was more consistent in picking out a teammate, with 90.8 per cent pass completion.

Enrique was solid defensively. He won 100 per cent of his 'aerial duels' and was the Reds' most consistent tackler on the ground, winning 80 per cent of his 'duels'. Enrique did not concede a single foul and he won two free-kicks for his side.

Henderson was busy in the middle of the park. The England U21 international played 76 passes at a 90.8 per cent accuracy rate and fired 11 crosses into danger areas. The No.14 also produced three shot assists for his teammates.

Elsewhere the statistics illustrate the extent to which Kenny Dalglish's side piled on the pressure in an attempt to break the deadlock at Anfield.

Liverpool fired 30 shots at goal, over three times the amount Roy Hodgson's side attempted (9). West Brom had to deal with 46 crosses from the home side and were forced to make 47 clearances.

Between them, Baggies defenders Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson intervened to clear the ball to safety 25 times.

The Reds out-passed their opposition, playing 565 passes at an 83.5 per cent completion rate. West Brom managed 333 passes with 71.8 per cent accuracy.

Between the sticks, Ben Foster was forced to make four saves while Pepe Reina was called into action twice. The Baggies 'keeper touched the ball 62 times compared to the Reina's 34.

Martin Skrtel and Daniel Agger both won three tackles. Skrtel was busy clearing the danger for the Reds, playing the ball to safety seven times.

Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez had six goal attempts each and for both players, five of their efforts came from inside the West Brom penalty area. Suarez saw plenty of the ball throughout the 90 minutes, taking 80 touches.

His strike partner Carroll provided eight shot assists for his teammates. The most notable of which came when the forward touched the ball back for Henderson to rattle the Kop crossbar.
