Most Exciting PL Games: 94
A Fernando Torres-inspired Anfield victory continues our brand new summer feature of Liverpool's 100 Most Exciting Premier League Games at No.94.
LFC's Most Exciting PL Game No.94: December 22, 2007. Liverpool 4-1 Portsmouth.
Fernando Torres's dynamic performance warranted a hat-trick but the striker had to settle for two.
He pulled Sol Campbell every which way throughout an arduous 90 minutes for the Portsmouth captain and it was the Spaniard's effort that was turned past keeper David James by defender Sylvain Distin to double Liverpool's advantage on 16 minutes.
Harry Kewell had picked out Yossi Benayoun for the opener three minutes prior and the Israeli thumped a volley past James for 1-0. Two more goals from Torres in the second half capped a wonderful performance from him and a sealed strong win for Rafael Benitez's side.
Each weeknight during the summer we'll reveal four more from our countdown from 6pm BST on LFC TV. 11-minute highlights will then be available on LFC TV Online the following morning. LFC TV is available FREE to view on SKY channel 434 and Virgin channel 544 (as part of the XL pack).
